Description

The Sensory Bench is an innovative, additional piece of equipment for public space. It can be installed, for example, in housing estates, parks, green areas, playgrounds, promenades, as well as indoors: at airports, stations, shopping malls, etc. The Sensory Bench combines several functionalities.

  • The basis is the structure of the accessible bench, which has a number of facilities for people with different levels of fitness, including wheelchair users.
  • Wide armrests and specially designed ergonomics make it easier to get up and sit on the bench and transfer from the wheelchair to the seat of the bench.
  • In addition, one of the bench modules is filled with materials of variable colors, textures, shapes and temperatures. Thanks to this, both when sitting and touching subsequent elements, the user of the bench experiences various stimuli. This functionality is particularly attractive for children, who will be able to spend a little more time on the bench, but also fill this time with fun supporting sensory integration, but also for people who need therapy - with intellectual, cognitive and developmental disorders.

The bench is available in 2 versions: 2-seater and 3-seater. The bench can be used by people of all ages, able-bodied people, people with disabilities, also in wheelchairs, seniors, blind people, in various configurations of these users, depending on the needs.

Sensory integration

What is sensory integration?

It is the ability to understand and organize stimuli and information provided from the environment and from one's own body through the senses. It is a process in which the brain receives and processes the information it receives and then sends a response appropriate to the given stimulus. Sensory integration therapy supports the development of the nervous system by learning to recognize, segregate and respond to a given stimulus.

How does the sensory bench support sensory integration?

Elements on one part of the seat and backrest are made of materials with variable textures, shapes, temperatures and colors. They encourage touching and developing hand-eye coordination, visual and tactile perception.
